OEDIPUS AMONG US?
WITH HIS ŒDIPUS!
No matter how much I watch them on Vimeo or elsewhere, his marvellous performances, I still not dare to say a word about them. So far, suffices me to be awed by them. The way al-Hallaaj was awed by some visions from Barzakh (but that is for an another long story about Nuno).
I want not to confuse the guests of my web. I myself, admit I, wait for the miracle of watching Fahrudin's live performances. It may even happen during his directing my own text. The Imagination! Illusion! Saraab! It is probably even better to be dreaming live, a sober reality, than living it!
But why do we know naught about him? About Nuno, as people call him, about Dr Professor, but above all, about an artist and man - Fahrudin Salihbegovic? Because we have eyes but see not, because we have hears but hear not, because we have mind but think not..., as it is similarly saying to us, his & ours, Holly Book – The Qur'aan!
Is being such the very whole dunia, all the world, entire Balkan, or only Serbia & Bosnia?! In which first, he was born, lived and was schooled, before running, thanks-to-war, far away from his native Nova Varoš, bellow Zlatibor, in Sanjak. And which second one, Bosnia! and especially Sarajevo! he carries, since ever and for ever, as an amulet of his inner homeland; as a diamond hidden in his secret pocket, in his cardiac atria, an illegal-alike, wherever he finds himself in the world; wandering as a refugee, or studying, or doing his doctorate, or artistically performing, or professorially teaching…
And probably be dreaming while wide-awake, the way all great artists do?! Is there any from among such without sleepwalking this world of the darkest pain, but which wretchedness we so hardly give up?! Perhaps in that unreasonable love, reposes the well of every true art?! And wisdom?! Even faith!
